Summary

The earthworks of a possible post medieval drain and flanking bank can be seen on aerial photographs taken in 1947. This drain is situated to the west of Cooling's old sea defences. The drain is disused and does not appear on post-Second World War Ordnance Survey maps. The remains of this earthwork are still visible on 2007 lidar. It was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.

The earthworks of a possible post medieval drain and flanking bank can be seen on aerial photographs taken in 1947. This drain is situated to the west of Cooling's old sea defences at TQ 7552 7757. The drain is disused and does not appear on post-Second World War Ordnance Survey maps. The remains of this earthwork are still visible on 2007 lidar. It was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.(1-2)
