Summary
The wreck of the DEFIANCE, a British third rate ship of the line, which was was accidentally burnt on the 6th of December 1668. Her remains were ordered to be used as a hulk. Constructed of wood at Deptford in 1666, she had an armament of 66 guns and was a sailing vessel.
