Full Description
Thom Fulnetby to Lord Zouch: "A bark laden with lead belonging to Sir Rich Grauerar of Westchester was sunk near Margate, but the lead and other merchandise saved, and though she is now brought into the pier, yet as six or seven tides washed over her thereby she could be considered a wreck. The Deputy of Margate lays claim to her as the kings wreck." "Memorandum that a bark laden with lead ran aground between St Nicholas and Reculver out of the liberties of the Cinque ports and that the boatmen insisted on taking out more lead then the master wished and were upheld by Wm Cappins the Lord Waverly servant. Indorsed (by Nichols) Sir R Graverar May 20." Owner: Sir Richard Graverar Date of Loss: R (1) The owner of this vessel is the same as that of 902053 and the possibility exists, therefore, that the two reports could refer to the same vessel. (2) Owner: Sir Richard Gravenor
