Full Description
An Admiralty tug, hired for examination service on December 6, 1939, sunk when she detonated a magnetic mine probably dropped from a German aircraft. Vertical Datum: LAT Quality of Depth: SWD The NAPIA was hired for examination service and was mined in 1939. 29-JUN-1959 Dispersed to within 1ft of the seabed. 17-OCT-1987 Examined in 51 15 41.0N, 001 25 11.0E. Least echosounder depth 5.5 in general depth 6.2m. Scour depth 7.1m. Side scan sonar height 0.5m. Apparently dispersed over area 45 x 30m with no particular orientation. Magnetic anomaly indicates iron content of some 50 tonnes.(2)
