Vertical Datum: LAT Quality of Depth: SWS The SAIDIEH was torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine UB6. She was carrying 8,000 tons of cargo. 26-MAY-1917 Wreck dispersed 6.4M N54deg E(mag) from N foreland. 05-JUN-1959 A spike sticking up 18ft from a flat bottom with a small scour on either side of it. General depth 66ft, least depth 51ft. Scour 3ft. Sea bed smooth sand. In position 51 27 25N 001 33 42E. 10-DEC-1970 Position 51 27 28N 001 33 44E. Cleared 14.8m (48ft), foul 14.9m (49ft). Echosounder 15.4m (51ft) in 20 - 21m (66-69ft). Scour 21.3m (70ft). Flat sea bed. Wreck lies 250ft NNW of charted position found during area sonar sweep. 10-NOV-1976 Obstructions in positions 51 27 40N 001 34 08E, and 51 27 27N 001 33 47E. Kingfisher chart KE 151-2, JULY 1968 Edition. 25-OCT-1983 In 51 27 27N 001 33 39E, least echosounder depth 15.3 in general depth 20.5m. Scour depth 2m to SE of wreck, side scan sonar height 5m. Lying 060/240 degs. 15-FEB-1990 Located during area search. Not examined closely.
