Vertical Datum: LAT Quality of Depth: ES HMS BLACHE was mined in 1939. 04-JUN-1959 Investigated by a/s and echosounder, general depth 36ft. Seabed sand and shell. Small spikes 4ft high. No trace of wreck was found except a possible shallow scour of 7ft. Good a/s contact position 51 27 44N 001 27 35E. 15-MAR-1962 Searched for but not found. 25-JAN-1967 Searched for but no trace. 30-JUL-1969 No firm contact was made with this wreck but indications of wreckage were found on sounding lines in the area. 22-SEP-1971 Not found by EG and G or fishermans sonar. 04-JUN-1974 Searched for by echo sounder and MS47. Not located. 18-OCT-1977 Located using side scan sonar and echosounder in 51 27 35N 001 27 15E. Least depth 14.2m in general depth 14m. Scour 15m. Very broken up - gives appearance of small shingle patch. 23-APR-1980 In 51 27 34N 001 27 15E, least echo sounder depth 13.1 in general depth 13.8m. Side scan sonar height 0.7m. Lies in and completely fills its own scour, but shows up well on sonargraph. 27-OCT-1983 In 51 27 34N 001 27 15E, least echosounder depth 13.5 in general depth 14.5m. No scour, side scan sonar height 0.2m. Shows up on sonargraph, but very few echosounder contacts. No indication of wreck uncovering. 15-FEB-1990 Located during area search. Not examined closely. (1)
