Vertical Datum: LAT The HK DANIELS was mined on Cant Shoal in 1942. 10-AUG-1959 Reported to be 038 deg Minster Ch. 3.45m, Middle Sand Bn 114deg 37min, Minster Ch 37deg 11min, Garrison Pt W/T mast and Minster Ch 115deg 30min SW Admiralty Bn. A large moored buoyant spar, resembling the mast of a sailing barge was fixed by the above sextant angles. 10-AUG-1959 Depth around wreck 10 to 12ft position 51 28 01N 000 52 13E. 10-AUG-1959 Not located in previous position after intensive sweeping. Wreck presumed to be HK DANIELS reported to be in position 035deg Minster Ch 2.96M 51 27 43N 000 51 30E. 10-AUG-1959 Drift sweep, and echosounder clear at 8ft, foul at 9ft. Surrounding sea bed very even at 12ft. A small crater, depth 2ft, and a projection of 3ft above the sea bed was recorded on the echo trace, position 51 27 46N 000 51 35E 178deg 8490 ft from Great Nore Tower. 12-SEP-1967 Sailing barge, mined 1942 on Cant Shoal, position uncertain. Area reported swept by QHM 1955. (1)
