Vertical Datum: LAT Quality of Depth: SWS The TAMARISK was bombed and sunk by German aircraft in 1940. 03-JUN-1959 Position 51 27 48N 001 26 16E. 03-JUN-1959 Drift sweep following dispersal. Clear at 42, foul at 43ft. General depth 43-44ft, position 51 27 54N 001 26 13E. 15-MAR-1962 Searched for but not found. 25-JAN-1967 Searched for. Not found. Vague a/s return from N. 07-MAY-1969 In 51 27 51N 001 26 13E, least echosounder depth 13.2 in general depth 14m. Scour depth 14.4m. Small wreck only projecting slightly above general seabed level. A weak a/s contact. 22-SEP-1971 Not found using side scan sonar 3. Faint contact on fisherman's sonar. Not examined. 04-JUN-1974 Examined in 51 27 52N 001 26 15E, least echosounder depth 14.6 in general depth 14.8m. 05-MAY-1977 Easy to locate. Two small pieces of wreckage, lying WSW and ENE. Swept clear at 13, foul at 13.5m, least echosounder depth 13.3 in general depth 14.4m. Scour depth 14.8m, position 51 27 52N 001 26 15E. 07-DEC-1977 Located using side scan sonar and echosounder in 51 27 51N 001 26 14E. Least echosounder depth 14.8 in general depth 14.5m. Scour depth 15.1m. Well broken up. Main part covers area 75x75ft, lying in scour. Small isolated part lies 150ft S of scour and has side scan sonar height of 1.08m. 26-MAR-1980 Lies in 3 parts. W part in 51 27 52N 001 26 06E. Swept clear at 12, foul at 12.6m. E part - 51 27 51N 001 26 13E general depth 14.5m. 3rd part lies 50m SSW of main [E] part. It is small and rises only 0.9m high. No scour anywhere. 02-NOV-1983 In 51 27 52N 001 26 05E, least echosounder depth 13.2 in general depth 14.5-15m. Scour depth 15.2m. Two parts located - western-most shoalest. Possible indication of a 3rd part to the SE. No side scan sonar shadow. 15-FEB-1990 Located during area search. Not examined closely. Small sonar contact in 51 27 51N 001 26 12E [E part] gave magnetometer deflection. Lies E/W, least echosounder depth 13.3m. Swept clear at 13.2m. 13-SEP-1989 Scour depth 15.4m. General depth 14.9m.
