Vertical Datum: LAT Quality of Depth: ES The WOODTOWN was mined in 1939. She sank 0.75M NE of NE Spit Buoy. 04-JUN-1959 Swept after dispersal. Located by sonar. Clear at 46ft, foul at 47ft, least echosounder depth 48ft. in general depth 64ft. Position 51 28 06N 001 31 23E. 04-JUN-1959 Investigated by sonar and echosounder. Least echosounder depth 51 in general depth 60ft. Substantial wreck echo - 14ft high with 6ft deep scour, position - 51 28 04N 001 31 22E. 10-DEC-1970 Examined in 51 28 09N 001 31 19E. Swept clear at 14, foul at 14.5m, least echosounder depth 16.1 in general depth 19m. Scour depth 20m. Lies 005/185 degrees. About 400ft in length. Good sonar contact. 22-NOV-1983 In 51 28 05N 001 31 18E, least echosounder depth 15.7 in general depth 19.5m. No scour. No side scan sonar height obtained. A large broken/dispersed wreck and a good sonar contact. Lying NW/SE. 14-SEP-1989 In 51 28 06N 001 31 18E. Swept clear at 16, foul at 16.2m, least echosounder depth 15.6 in general depth 19m. Scour depth 20.1m. Large broken wreck. Lies 135/315 degrees. Gave large magnetometer deflection.
