Vertical Datum: LAT Quality of Depth: SWS The MENAPIER is reported to have been sunk by UB10 on either the 6 or 7 June 1915. 29-MAY-1917 Wreck dispersed, position 7.45 Miles, N 39degs E (T) from N Foreland Lt. Least depth over wreck 50ft. 04-JUN-1959 Drift swept - clear at 52, foul at 55ft. General depth 67ft. Position - 51 28 08N 001 34 22E. 04-JUN-1959 Examined using asdic sonar and echosounder. Least echosounder depth 57 in general depth 66ft. Substantial "spike" 14ft high in scour 4ft deep at base. Good a/s contact in position 51 28 04N 001 34 20E. 10-DEC-1970 Examined in 51 28 10N 001 34 22E. Swept clear at 14.4, foul at 14.9m. Least echosounder depth 16.1 in general depth 21m. Scour depth 21.7m. Flat seabed. Lies 005/185 degrees. Length about 400ft. 10-NOV-1976 Obstruction shown in 51 28 13N 001 34 45E. Kingfisher Chart KE 151-2, JULY 1968 Edn. 26-OCT-1983 In 51 28 07N 001 34 21E, least echosounder depth 15.8 in general depth 21.5m. Scour depth 2m. Side scan sonar height 4.6m. A large wreck lying N/S. 14-SEP-1989 In 51 28 08N 001 34 21E. Swept clear at 14.3, foul at 14.5m. Least echosounder depth 14.3 in general depth 20.9m. Scour depth 23.6m, side scan sonar height 6m. Large wreck lying N/S. Good sonar contact and gives large magnetometer deflection.
