Vertical Datum: LAT Quality of Depth: ES The JOSEPHINE CHARLOTTE was mined in 1940. Wreck was dispersed to sea bed in 1947. 30-JUL-1969 Bottom in area of wreck very uneven and although several asdic contacts were obtained close to its position no convincing evidence of its existance was obtained by echo sounder. Area was covered by close sounding for wreck 148 and similarly gave no indication. Not located 8-MAY-1969. 22-SEP-1971 Not found by side scan sonar and not investigated. 04-JUN-1974 Not located by ms47. 06-DEC-1977 Small pieces wreckage scattered over area 50x50ft in 51 28 15N 001 27 19E, side scan sonar height 0.35m in general depth 14.2m. 28-APR-1980 In 51 28 15N 001 27 18E, least echosounder depth 13.4 in general depth 14m. Scour 15m. Lies mainly beneath seabed in W side of its own scour. 31-OCT-1983 In 51 28 14N 001 27 18E, least echosounder depth 13.9 in general depth 14.5m. Scour depth 15.5m on E side of wreck. Well-dispersed on uneven seabed, side scan sonar height 0.4m. 15-FEB-1990 Located during area search. Not examined closely. (1)
