Vertical Datum: LAT Quality of Depth: SWS The DANUBE 3 was sunk by a mine in 1940. 25-OCT-1940 Located by echosounder. Drift sweep 25-OCT-1940 -clear at 36ft, foul at 40ft. 29-JUL-1959 Clear at 51ft foul at 51ft least water 50ft. (1)

Position 51 28 27N 000 51 19E. 02-NOV-1961 Wreck is a dumb barge built 1924. 219 tons. Requisitioned on 28-AUG-1939 from Tilbury Contracting and Dredging Co Ltd. Mined and sunk while engaged on examination service. 12-SEP-1967 In Great Nore in centre of Medway approach channel east of no 1 buoy. Wreck not dispersed. Charted clear 36ft in 1946. 1950 clear at 50ft. 1959 close sounding and drift sweeping gave 57ft 3ins on wreckage, in surrounding depths of 68ft with scour holes up to 85ft. Much visible turbulence.
