Vertical Datum: LAT Quality of Depth: SWS 03-FEB-1919 Wreck of ALGERIA in 51 28 30N 001 23 52E. Least depth 35ft. Marked by G wreck buoy, GPFL(2) G 10s. 13-AUG-1956 Wreck in 51 28 27N 001 23 51.5E. Swept clear at 49, foul at 50ft, least echosounder depth 51 in general depth 72ft. Scour depth 86ft. A most conspicuous surface disturbance observed down tide of this wreck. 25-JAN-1967 Located using echosounder. Least depth 59 in general depth 72ft. 25-AUG-1971 Examined in 51 28 30N 001 23 51E. Swept clear at 46ft, foul at 47ft, least echosounder depth 52 in general depth 62 - 70ft. Extensive scour, depth 92ft, lies approx N/W to S/E from wreck, which is easy to find. Highest point at centre. 04-MAY-1977 Examined in 51 28 30N 001 23 51E. Swept clear at 14.5, foul at 15.3m. Least echosounder depth 15.9 in general depth 21.5m. Scour depth 28m. 22-OCT-1991 In 51 28 28N 001 23 51E. Ogb coords - 635910e, 180583n, least echosounder depth 15.5 in general depth 19-21m. Wreckage covers area 400 [E/W] x 100 [N/S]m. Extensive scour, depth 28.6m, some 270m overall from N to S and probably 700-800m to the E. A most conspicuous downtide eddy still exists and sand brought to the surface remains in suspension for 0.5 miles or more. (1)
