Full Description

Vertical Datum: LAT Quality of Depth: SWS HMS VIMIERA was mined in 1942. Part of VIMIERA [c] lies in 51 28 30N 000 55 09E - 051 deg, 5.03 Miles from Minster Spire. Swept - clear at 47, foul at 48ft. 24-MAY-1960 Not found, position lies on the side of a bank from which indistinct sonar returns. 14-MAR-1962 Not searched for. 05-NOV-1975 Wreck located in 51 28 30N 000 55 14E. Single ship drift sweep clear at 13.2, foul at 13.4m. Least echosounder depth 14.7 in general depth 14-15m. Scour depth 16.2m. More wreckage was found up to 130m W of the above position. Wreck lies at the foot of a bank. 24-FEB-1992 In 51 28 30.4N 000 55 14.7E. Ogb coords - 602808e, 179227n. Least echosounder depth 15 in general depth 16.8m. Scour depth 17.4m. Wreck consists now of small unconnected pieces of wreckage. Scour is not clearly defined. (1)
