Vertical Datum: LAT Quality of Depth: SWS The CAPRICORNUS was mined in 1940. 04-AUG-1959 Position 51 28 32N 000 56 24E. 04-AUG-1959 Drift sweep echosounder after dispersal clear 40ft, foul 41ft, swept by sonar. 04-AUG-1959 Drift sweep clear 47ft, foul 48ft, surrounding sea bed irregular, average depth 55ft. 23-MAY-1960 Drift sweep clear 47ft, least echosounder depth 49ft in 48ft. Scour 51ft. Wreck lies in scour. Barely rises above level of surrounding sea bed. Sweep taken to 2ft above bottom without fouling. 14-MAR-1962 Not searched for. 24-FEB-1969 Drift sweep by MAPLIN clear 45ft, foul 46.3ft. Wreckage occupies 40sq ft. Least depth by echo sounder 48.2ft in general depth by echo sounder 51ft. Scour by echo sounder 52.8ft. Fixed 51 28 33.3N 000 56 19.8E. 22-DEC-1978 Small wreck swept in 51 28 34N 000 56 18E, least echosounder depth 14 in general depth 15.3m. Scour 15.5m. Clear at 13.8, foul at 14.4m. Sweep parted (1).
