Vertical Datum: LAT Quality of Depth: SWS The DALRYAN was mined in 1939 while en route to Ipswich carrying 3100 tons of cargo. 06-JAN-1940 Wreck reported by HMS BITTERN. 04-OCT-1942 Shingles lies very close to wreck of GIRASOL about 0.5 cables east. 04-JUN-1959 Drift sweep clear 49ft foul 50ft a/s and echosounder carried out after dispersal. 15-MAR-1962 least echosounder 56Ft general depth 81ft, scour 100ft. No visual fix. 21-AUG-1967 Lucas wire drift sweep clear 49ft foul 50ft. Least echosounder 59ft, seabed 74ft, scour 78ft. A large group of wrecks. Fishermans floats came to the surface having been cut loose by the sweep wire and may cause false fouls. 13-NOV-1974 Fixed in position 51 28 49N 001 22 25E. Drift sweep wreck clear 14.9m, foul 15.2m. General depth of seabed by echo 22m. Scour 29m. Least depth by echo sounder 15.9m. This wreck is only about 45m from the `GIRASOL' which was swept on the same day (28- AUG-1974). (1)
