Vertical Datum: LAT Quality of Depth: SWS The RAY OF HOPE was requisitioned for Naval service. She was mine din 1939. 18-DEC-1939 Sank in approx position 092 deg, 6.48 Miles from S Shingles Bn. 08-SEP-1943 Position now 51 30 14N 001 25 39E. 02-APR-1951 Now foul ground in 51 30 12N 001 25 36E. 15-MAR-1962 Searched for. Not found. 25-JAN-1967 Searched for. Not found. 23-APR-1969 Good sonar contact obtained in 51 30 14N 001 25 39E, least echosounder depth 13.4 in general depth 15.2m. Scour depth 15.6m. Good echosounder trace but wreck is very small. Lies close to 13m bank. 22-JUN-1981 In 51 30 15N 001 25 36E. Swept clear at 12.7, Foul at 13m, least echosounder depth 12.8 in general depth 14.6m. Scour 15.6m. Small wreck, about 22x7.5m, Lying E/W. Covered with weed. Sweep did not part on fouling. 15-SEP-1989 In 51 30 14N 001 25 39E. Swept clear at 13.8, foul at 14m, least echosounder depth 13.7 in general depth 14.7m. Scour depth 15.1m, side scan sonar height 1m. Lies approx 090/270 degrees. Induces large magnetic deflection.
