Vertical Datum: LAT Quality of Depth: SWS The ARIDITY was mined while on passage Hull to London, 1940. 05-SEP-1972 Sank 40yds NE of E Oaze Ltv. 51 30 30N 001 00 30E, approx. 09-MAR-1992 Wreckage, extending over radius 40m, examined in 51 30 51N, 001 00 06E. Wire swept clear at 8.4m. 05-MAR-1992 In ogb coords 608253e, 183788n. Swept clear at 8.4, foul at 9.1m. Least echosounder depth 8.5 in general depths 9.6 to 11m. Scour depth 12.6m. Wreckage covers area 76x32m, orientated N/S. Sweep parted on fouling with white paint on one sinker and red paint on the other. Scour mainly to S of wreck mound but with an extension to ENE for 100m. Could be remains of MARCATO, dispersed in 1926. Launch OSPREY was also lost in this vicinity in April 1986 and may have lodged in this wreckage.
