Vertical Datum: LAT Quality of Depth: SWS The RUBISLAW, whilst en route from London to Aberdeen, hit a mine and sunk 2m E of Tongue Light Vessel and 4 cables SW of Knock S Buoy, 1939. 14-DEC-1939 Wreck PA in 51 31 08N 001 24 32E. 08-SEP-1943 Wreck found in position 022degs, 1.83Miles from Tongue Sand Tower. Presumed to be RUBISLAW or trawler MASTIFF. 25-OCT-1946 Oropesa search carried out over area JUNE 1944. Sweep set to 42ft - nothing found. 30-SEP-1946 Drift sweeping Asdic sonar sweeping and echosounder. Cleared at 56ft. Least echosounder sounding trace 59ft in 51 31 17N 001 23 08E. 15-MAR-1962 Not searched for. 25-JAN-1967 Swept to 62ft, foul 63ft. 29-APR-1969 Least depth over wreck by echo, 19.8 in general depth 21.2m. Depth of scour 21.8m. Seabed is sloping. Fixed in position 51 31 17N 001 23 10E. 03-JUL-1974 Position 51 31 16N 001 23 11E, sweep clear at 20m, foul at 20.5m in general depth 20.5m. Scour 21.5m, least echosounder depth 20.2m. Small wreck showing on echosounder trace as being about 10m across in scour 25m across and barely protruding above seabed.
