Vertical Datum: LAT Quality of Depth: SWS DESIREE, built 1912, was mined in the Thames Estuary in 1941. 28-APR-1941 Wreck in 51 31 52N 001 11 08E. 23-MAY-1941 Least depth over wreck 5fms 2ft. 14-DEC-1945 Least depth now 4fms 2ft. 08-APR-1946 Drift sweep, after dispersal, clear at 45ft. Foul at 46ft. Least depth by echo sounder 45ft, position 51 31 53N 001 11 10E or 265.5Degs 1.12M from NW Shingles Bn. 26-JUL-1952 Least depth by echo sounder only 8fms 2ft in general depth 9-10fms. Scour 9fms 5ft. Seabed slightly bumpy, position 51 31 53N 001 11 09E. 11-DEC-1961 Drift sweep clear at 43ft, foul 46ft, least echosounder depth 49ft in general depth 52ft. Scour 62ft. This is a very small wreck lying on the edge of a bank. 27-MAY-1964 Not found by echosounder. 25-JUN-1968 A good sonar contact. Located in charted position 51 31 53N 001 11 08E. Least depth 49ft in general depth 52-58ft. Scour 60ft. 11-OCT-1973 Sweep clear at 45.6Ft, foul at 46.4Ft, least echosounder depth 48ft in general depth 54ft, scour 58ft. Fixed in 51 31 53N 001 11 09E. Small but reasonably easy to find. Scour to NE. 19-APR-1990 Located using echosounder in APR-1987. Ng coords 620936e, 186244n. 20-AUG-1991 Shown as stranded wreck 13.9m on PLA 203.
