Vertical Datum: LAT Quality of Depth: SWS The DALHOUSIE was torpedoed and sunk by German submarine in 1916. Position 51 36 42N 001 40 00E, approx. 06-SEP-1921 Position 51 46 42N 001 40 00E. Least depth 48ft in general depth 73ft. Lies NNE/SSW. 30-NOV-1937 Located by oropesa sweep. Drift sweep - clear at 48, foul at 49ft. Least echosounder depth 48ft in 51 36 34N 001 40 00E. 07-MAY-1959 Salvage operations in progress, OCT-1955. Buoy laid. Buoy removed by TH on 24-JUL-1956. 23-JAN-1970 Drift sweep - clear at 16.5, Foul at 16.9m. General depth 25m. Scour depth 26.2m. Good sonar from N and SW. Extends about 300ft in NNE/SSW, position 51 36 35N 001 40 06E. 09-DEC-1970 Not found during area sonar sweep. 05-JAN-1972 Position 51 36 28N 001 40 06E - plotted from side scan sonar trace and using hf. Definite wreck but gave no side scan sonar shadow. 20-SEP-1988 In 51 36 36N 001 40 06E. Swept clear at 17, foul at 17.3m. Least echosounder depth 17.6 in general depth 24m. Scour depth 25.8m. Side scan sonar 3 ht 5.6m, Length about 100m. Large intact wreck lying 020/200 degrees. A separate piece of wreckage [nfs] was located 130m E of wreck and had least echosounder depth 23.4m.
