Vertical Datum: LAT Quality of Depth: SWS The PETER HAMRE was torpedoed by a submarine in 1916. She was carrying 1431 tons of cargo. 1937 Drift sweep clear 10fms foul 10fms 1ft least echosounder 10fms shows trace of small wreck, position 51 39 02N 001 42 49E, which is 4.5 Cables 090 deg from previous position 51 39 05N 001 42 00E. This position was swept over by oropesa to minimum of 10 fms but no trace was found. 31-OCT-1955 Reported to be the BIERGIT a Norwegian timber ship. 05-JAN-1972 Not found by side scan sonar.
