Vertical Datum: LAT Quality of Depth: SWS 29-APR-1959 Dispersed to least depth 50 in general depth 69ft. position 325.5 Deg, 3.4 Cables from Kentish Light vessel. 30-APR-1959 Located at 10fms by oropesa sweep within a cable of previous position. No foul obtained by drift sweep. No trace by echo sounder but a small scour of 1fm was recorded. Small piece of wreckage brought up by oropesa. Sweep drift - clear to 64ft. Bottom is flat. General depths 74-78ft. position 51 39 18N 001 40 18E. 03-FEB-1970 Area swept with sonar but not found. A wreck was found 4 cables eastwards in 51 39 15N 001 40 51E and was originally thought to be the MASEPPA but cannot be because of size. 31-JUL-1970 Total loss. Has not been salvaged. Name should be MAZEPPA. 05-JAN-1971 Small echo obtained on side scan sonar, further examination required. 01-MAR-1989 Nothing found. General depth now 21m suggesting shoaling since last located in 1937. Recommend expunge.
