Vertical Datum: LAT Quality of Depth: SWD The JACOB LUCKENBACH sank following a collision with British SS EDDYSTONE, 1916. 30-JUN-1959 Least depth 34ft. Dispersed to least depth of 39ft in position 51 13 10.0N, 001 26 30.0E. 04-OCT-1960 Lucas wire drift sweep. Wreck now in two parts and has moved and probably accounts for 3ft reduction in depth over its fix, on shallowest part. Clear 33ft and 39ft, foul at 34ft and 40ft. Least echo sounder depth 42ft in 45ft. Scour 47ft. 24-AUG-1962 Wreck in two parts - main part 300ft WNW of the other. 02-FEB-1971 Western portion position 51 13 13.5N, 001 26 30.0E. Flat sea bed. Western section of wreck is major part lying NW/SE but was difficult to locate. 08-AUG-1974 Found during survey with side scan sonar. Good contact from all directions of small extent. Lies approx NW/SE with slight scour on NE from sonar trace. Appears to be breaking up. Dispersed over fairly large area. 10-NOV-1980 Examined in 51 13 10.0N, 001 26 33.0E. Swept clear at 9.3, foul at 9.6m. Least echosounder depth 11.5 in general depth 14m. No scour. Side scan sonar height 1.7m (at S end). Length 95m, beam 25m. Lying 120/300 degrees. From dimensions, consider this to be complete wreck of JACOB LUCKENBACH and wreck close NW to be separate "unknown" wreck. 12-SEP-1984 Well broken up. Highest part is condenser unit (East Kent Maritime Trust).
