Monument record TQ 66 NE 10 - Alleged earthwork at Cobhambury Wood, Cobham

Summary

An alleged earthwork of a hillfort at Cobhambury Wood. Located on high ground above the road from Cobham to Buxton. Has been suggested that there are outlines of an extensive oppidum, but the evidence for this is minimal. Not now thought to be a suitable location for a defensive work.
