Method of Fix: 10 Horizontal Datum: OGB Vertical Datum: LAT Quality of Depth: Swept by wire Position 51 42 40.0N, 001 37 32.0E, approximately. (Monthly loss list). 20-JUL-1936 Not shown on fair chart. To be swept in 1936. 28-JAN-1970 Not found. Numerous sonar contacts. All examined proved to be sandwaves. Not all investigated due lack of time. 3 Contacts in 51 42 32.0N, 001 37 42.0E could prove to be this wreck. To be examined closely at next opportunity. 20-NOV-1970 Extensive search carried in this area. No wreck found. 11-APR-1979 Not found during intensive sonar search. Existence doubted. 13-SEP-1990 Intact wreck examined in 51 42 32.2N, 001 37 48.3E Swept clear at 15.1m, foul at 15.4m. Least echosounder depth 15.7m in general depth 18m. Scour depth 22.3m. Side scan sonar height 3.5m. Length 30m, beam 12m. Lies 135/315 degrees in own scour with a prominent sand plume leading downstream. A sizeable magnetic anomaly observed.
