Summary

A winged battery constructed some time between c1780 - 1870. It is situated between No 1 Bastion and Central Bastion on the Sheerness Lines. Field investigations were carried out by RCHME survey staff in April 1993. Gun emplacements are present near the western end, these supported breech loading guns in 1895, additional platforms for muzzle loading guns were visible on 1947 aerial photographs, but are now destroyed.
