Full Description
Chalk mine at TR 38766561 on private land at Honeysuckle Road, Ramsgate. Investigated 14th March 1992 by Kent Underground Research Group. The remains consist of series of interconnecting tunnels, totalling c.200m in length, averaging 1.7m in height and 0.8m wide. They were presumably cut in the late 19th century to suply raw materials for lime burning at the lime kilns shown at this location on the 1872 O.S. map. Previously refered to as the Six Mile Mine.
