Full Description
TR 36296987. Subsidence beneath the Drapers Mill C.P School was examined on 4-Sep-1990. A chamber 2.1 x 3.3m with passages leading off from it was revealed. Right angled bends in the side passages suggested interpretation as an air-raid shelter, possibly of First World War date, the bends reducing the effect of blast damage. It was recommended that the chamber be filled in for safety reasons. (1)
