Full Description
Type 24 pillbox, brick-shuttered. The embrasures on the downhill side are set lower in the walls than those on the uphill side.
Pillbox (Sector 5). Cassini ref 735590.
At Elms Wood, at edge of wood beside track.
Square pillbox approx 16ft square with overhanging roof slab. Brick-shuttered, 2ft thick walls and 2 embrasures per wall. The type seems to be peculiar to Dover.

Standard brick construction square pillbox with concrete roof slab 15ft by 15ft. Pillbox of common Dover type - square with overhanging roof slab and two embrasures per side. Built of brick shuttered concrete, and in poor condition.
[This pillbox appears to have two SMR entries and references - see 'Designation']. At Elms Vale, on hillside above Eaves Road. (2)
