Monument record TR 26 NE 159 - Possible medieval settlement at Coldharbour, St Nicholas at Wade parish
Summary
The fragment of an island at the mouth of the Wantsum Channel is thought to have been the site of a former medieval settlement. The area is known as 'Coldharbour' which is known in Old English as a shelter for travellers in bad weather. It has also been suggested that this may have been a fishing hamlet. No further information about this settlement is known.
