Full Description

Excavations on The Mount [see associated monument records] in 1985 revealed that it had been constructed on a buried land surface containing a setting of ironstone, feruginous sandstone and chert blocks with a number of associated sherds. The rim of a mortarium was the only closely dateable sherd, attributed to AD 90-130. There were five fragments of bloomery slag. (1)
