Summary
A possible late medieval and later settlement indicated by pottery discovered during ploughing operations. Located at the top of the field to the south of the woods. A large collection of late medieval and post medieval pottery including parts of several bellarmines (imported German pottery) have been collected by a private individual. Metal detector users have also reportedly found considerable quantities of material at this site. No traces of any structures have been found to date.

Full Description
TQ 528379 - TQ 532379. A possible post-medieval settlement has been located through ploughing. It lies along the top of the field to the south of the woods. No house platforms are now visible. A large collection of late medieval and post medieval pottery including parts of several bellarmines have been collected by Mr G. Robson of Groombridge, and remain in his possession. He reports that metal detector users have found considerable quantities of material at this possible site. (1)
