The following text is from the original listed building designation:
1. 5273 UPPER HARDRES Little Bursted Farmhouse TR 15 SE 13/622 30.1.67

2. Probable late Mediaeval timber-framed building with plaster and some painted brick infilling, the first floor of the north front oversailing on the protruding ends of the floor joists and weatherboarded. Two storeys. Steeply-pitched hipped tiled roof with C17 brick chimneystack. Four casement windows. Gabled weatherporch.

The farmhouse is associated with Little Bursted Farm (TR 15 SE 405) (2).

Four-bay timber framed house with 2-bay purpose built half-floored hall. The open bay lay to the north beyond which was an overshot passage. The lower end was jettied at the end and the upper end formerly so (3)
