The following text is from the original listed building designation:
HIGH STREET 1. 1355 (North-West Side) No 16 TR 0420 NW 1/19 II GV
2. A small timber-framed building refronted with stucco at a later date. 2 storeys and attic. Tiled roof with 1 tiny dormer. 2 C19 casements on 1st floor. The ground floor has 1 C19 3-light bay window and a C19 shop front. Simple doorcase. Included for group value. Nos 6 to 22 (even) and Nos 26 to 52 (even) form a group.

Formerly an open 2-bay hall of a Wealden house. The passage, probably overshot and service end lie in the next property (18 high Street).(2)
