The following text is from the original listed building designation:
1. 5272                    SMARDEN   BETHERSDEN ROAD       Dreenagh Cottage and TQ 8741 30/26     Dreenagh House
II 2. C16 or earlier restored timber-framed building with plaster infilling.  Two storeys and attics.  Steeply-pitched hipped tiled roof with pentice behind and 2 hipped dormers.  The first floor of the west front oversails on the protruding ends of the floor joists.  Three casement windows.
