Summary

The wreck of the ANDREW, and English cargo vessel, which was reported as stranded and bilged on the 6th of March 1665 at the Sandwich Flats, after negligence caused her get into difficulties. She was sailing from Sanlucar de Guadiana to London at her time of wrecking. Constructed of wood, she was a sailing vessel. Status: Casualty

Full Description

In the Admiralty Court of the Cinque Ports on 6th March 1664 the case was heard of the Andrew, William Thompson master. She had loaded in St Lucar and was bound for London. Arriving in the Downs she took on board a pilot. By the pilot's negligence she was 'cast away, bilged and broken, at a place called the Flatts. Date of case report (according to the Julien calendar) given as date of loss. (1)
