Full Description
The Admiralty Court Case Papers record a dispute oover the salvage of the Jufrow Johanna and Agatha. The Dutch dogger of about 90 tons burthen was picked up derelict in the Channel by a Spanish ship and towed to the Downs. With local help she was brought into Ramsgate. She subsequently 'burnt in Ramsgate Pier'. The severity of the fire may be guessed at by the statement that a salvage notice was 'served by fixing a copy on a peice of her stern which escaped the flames'. (1)
