The Admiralty Court Case Papers reports the loss of the Tehtis of 'Wisby in the Island of Gotland' in Sweden on 30th October 1791. She was bound from Sweden for Leghorn with timber, deals, wainscot, iron bars, muslin and nankeen. Meeting bad weather off Dover she ran into trouble. Salvage was attempted by local boats but the boatmen and crew finally abandoned her and she drove onto rocks near the North Foreland lighthouse. Most of the cargo was then saved. (1)

'The THETIS, Berge, from Wisby to Leghorn, drove on shore near the North Foreland, and it is feared will be lost. Crew saved.' (2)
