Full Description

On 7th April 1913 it was reported that Antje had grounded on the Ness. In firing an emergency rocket the crew set the ship on fire. She was towed onto the West Shore at Sheerness where, as the Harbour Master described her, she nearly dried at low water and the tide flowed in and out of the vessel. Antje was a German brigantine bound from Dantzig (present day Gdansk) to Milwall with a cargo of molasses in casks. (1)
