In his report of 08 June 1913 the Harbour Master described the property of Messrs Aveling and Porter: 'the return end at the upstream side of their new wharf is retained by old lighters'. Their property became Invicta Engineering (pers comm archivist at Rochester Upon Medway Studies Centre). The Ordnance Survey 6 inch map shows this property to lie on the north side of the river immediately upstream of the bridge. The wharf may be that immediately on the river front in TQ 739 689. However, the property included wharfs on the adjacent Jane and Pelican Creeks. Date of report taken for date of loss. (1)
