Findspot record TR 25 NE 49 - Neolithic/Bronze Age flints, Mill Field, Ash
Summary
A watching brief in 1992 during housing development recorded a scatter of late Neolithic and Bronze Age struck flints, parts of a large, curving ditch which yielded no datable finds, and a rectangular ditched enclosure of late Iron Age/early Roman date. There was a general scatter of mid-Iron Age to Roman pottery across the site. A single Saxon burial was found, represented by a bronze buckle (no bones survived), and other broadly contemporary finds were recovered
