Maritime record TQ 77 SE 84 - Unidentified barge, Hoo Island

Summary

The remains of a post medieval or 20th century barge is situated to the east of Hoo Island. This is barge lies close to the southern end of the line of eleven barges positioned line-astern along the eastern edge of the island, presumably as some form of sea defence. This vessel can be seen on aerial photographs taken in 2007 and was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project. Status: Site
