Full Description
A probable Roman burial group, dated 60-70 A.D., was discovered, in June 1964, by the Associated Portland Cement Company during quarrying at Snodland. It includes the rim of a butt beaker and a flagon which are now in Maidstone Museum (Acc. No. 78.1964). The find spot was sited at TQ 6953 6283 from a company plan, and confirmed by the surveyor present at the discovery. (1) Further reference. (2,7).
