Maritime record TR 06 SW 154 - Remains of unidentified barge, Faversham

Summary

In 1961, aerial photographs recorded a masted barge lying alongside a quay on the north side of Faversham Creek, opposite Standard Quay. Contemporary Ordnance Survey maps show this quay as being part of a ship yard. This ship yard, Polloclks, was closed in the 1970s, the buildings demolished later on and the quay redeveloped for waterside housing: although large vessels are still present at the given point, they are recreational craft and in 2008, there were no signs of the earlier vessel.
