The ship yard referred to above was Pollocks Ship Yard, closed in the 1970s and demolished around 2000. This Ship Yard was famous for 'sideways launches' into the Creek. Since 2002, the site has been redeveloped for waterside housing. At the point shown for the location of the unidentified barge, vessels are still moored but are recreational rather than working boats. No remains of earlier craft are visible at this point in 2008.
