Summary

Aerial photographs in 1961 and 1967 recorded this barge end on to the shore in the intertidal zone off the Isle of Harty. The remains were still visible in 2005.

Full Description

Method of Fix: Aerial Photograph Interpretation Photograph Number: KCC 1961 Line 9: 6562 Cross Reference: Society for Spritsail Research has as Lighter One of three barges lying bow to stern, end on to the shore, across the intertidal area (1-4). They are buried in the mud. On the 1967 survey (KCC 1967 Line 29:1234) this one is not double-ended. (1-4) The remains of a wood and iron barge and the whole upper part of one of the vessel's sides is sticking out of the mud. (5)
