Method of Fix: Aerial Photograph Interpretation Photograph Number: KCC 1961 Line 7: 3962 Method of Fix: Aerial Photograph Interpretation Photograph Number: KCC 1967 Line 31: 0993 One of a pair of barges lying to the south of a sheltered area immediately inside Admiralty pier. They lie end to end and are orientated roughly north-west - south-east. The fact that they not standing very far proud of the mud is indicated by this one being partially obscured by a small craft laying over it. In 1967 both barges have become less distinct, particularly this one. By the 1985 and 1990 surveys the land against which their south east ends lay appears to have been consolidated and extended. A number of barges have been recorded at Gillingham from the Society for Spritsail Research publication (NMR nos.TQ 76 NE 186-197 inclusive)
