One of two barges lying side by side, roughly north-south. Appear
from 1985 photograph to be double ended. In this photograph they seem to be less covered by mud than in 1961 when they showed as asingle feature.

Some remains are visible on the edge of foreshore, but there is no access because of deep soft mud (Unpublished document: Wessex Archaeology. 2005. NORTH KENT RAPID COASTAL ZONE ASSESSMENT PHASE II, YEAR TWO: FIELD ASSESSMENT).

This barge is one of two adjacent hulks seen at TQ 7054 7608 within the mud of Higham Creek. These barges have also been recorded together in NMR Monument record: 1525610. Both were mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project. (2)
