`The ROSE, Kennard, from Newcastle to Sandwich, is sunk in Pegwell Bay.' (1)

An account in source (3) speaks of a vessel damaged off Kent `in the late gale'.

`Newcastle, Nov. 10, 1787...The ROSE, Kinnard, from Newcastle to Sandwich, is sunk in Pegwell Bay.' (4)

NB: Source (2) attributes a cargo of coal to this vessel; coal is the most likely cargo from Newcastle-upon-Tyne, but this is not, however, explicitly stated in the original sources.
