Full Description

'The ANNA ELIZ. DOROTHEA, Axelbergh, from Bordeaux for Christianstadt, with wine, etc., was lost on the 8th inst. in the night, near Dungeness light; the captain and all the crew, except the mate, were drowned. Part of the cargo saved.' (1)

Source (2) spells the name of the master as Axelerg.

'The ANNA ELIZABETH DOROTHEA, Axel Aberg, from Bourdeaux for Christianstad, with wine etc., was lost in the night of the 8th inst. near Dungeness light; the captain and all the crew, except the mate, were drowned; part of the cargo saved.' (3)

'On the 8th instant, the ship ANNE & ELIZABETH, DOROTHY, of Christianstadt, of the burthen of about 70 tons, whereof Axel Auberg was master, bound from Bourdeaux to Christianstadt in Sweden, laden with wine, brandy, vinegar, indigo, and other goods, was driven on shore about 4 miles to the westward of Dungeness, upon the coast of Kent, and that all the people on board, except Anders Jonsson, the mate, were drowned.'
